RE/MAX® Canada is pleased to announce it is an Official Partner of the WNBA Canada Game presented by Tangerine. This milestone event marks the first-ever WNBA preseason game to be held in Canada will be taking place on May 13, 2023, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. RE/MAX Canada is proud to celebrate and empower women and girls in sports, as strongly as it does in the real estate industry.

When RE/MAX was first established in 1973 by Dave Liniger and Gail Main (who later became Gail Liniger), the company was built with a female backbone, since none of the other top-level real estate brokerages were hiring women at the time. Unsurprisingly, the men soon followed when they saw their female counterparts’ success in the business.

Today, more than 3,500 RE/MAX broker/owners and 75,000 agents are women, and in 2022, female RE/MAX agents pulled in more than $256B in total volume. In Canada, 44 per cent of RE/MAX’s membership is female.

“RE/MAX has an incredible network of brokers and agents, and women have always been a huge driving force behind the brand’s success, and the achievements of so many independently owned and operated brokerages worldwide,” says Christopher Alexander, President of RE/MAX Canada. “There’s still lots of gender bias out there, and I encourage everyone – businesses and individuals alike – to challenge those assumptions and work toward a more-inclusive society.”

RE/MAX Canada’s WNBA Canada Game sponsorship allows RE/MAX to market the game both nationally and in-arena, bringing Canadian fans closer to the WNBA.
